The Brukenthal Castle Micăsasa in Sibiu county was built in the 16th century and is ready for a long-awaited restoration with the 3D-scanning point cloud. Formerly the property of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal – the governor of Transylvania, the historic monument still only shelters a tower and some dilapidated walls.
We support the restoration of #heritage buildings and believe that it would be good to monitor the behaviour of these buildings over time in order to be able to identify the transformations that have occurred. We are glad to partner with Ambulance for Monuments – South Transylvania – a project initiated in 2016 by the Monumentum Association.
President of the association – arh. Eugen Vaida – is coordinating the ambitious project which aims to act effectively in the field of safeguarding immovable heritage by securing important heritage sites in an advanced state of degradation or pre-collapse. More than 600 privately or publicly owned #monument-historical sites in Romania are awaiting emergency rescue and their number is worryingly increasing.
We encourage you to support #romanticheritage by donating or volunteering with Ambulance For Monuments.
